the saels engineer is responsible for techincal pre-sales supoprt throughout the sales cycle. delivery of techincal presenattions, the development and implementation of technical sales strategies, and support for customer proudct evaluations, customer and reseller training, but is not limited to, product demonsrtations, this includes.the sales engineer is expected to constantly improve their skills to meet or exceed industry requirements, additionally. the sales engineer must be a self-starter and always seek opportunities to advance sales and industry presence for dell storage solutions.as part of maintaining customer satisfaction, some post-sale duties may occasionally be required to resolve customer issues. nt/windows server or other operating systems
3 years expeirence with storage integration into heterogeneous it environments
experience with ethernet and ip networking technologies
good working knoweldge of performance and storage test tools
strong individual and group presentation skills
very good verbal and written communications skills
excellent customer management skills
excellent time management skills\"liemea\", storage management, back-up/recovery
3 years experience with unix, linux,
technical degree or equivalent required
5 years of pre-sales support
3 years of indpeth storage experience inclduing sans, nas.
duites and responsbiilities
proivde pre-sales technical support
proivde technical product presentations and demonstrations
maitnain detialed knowledge of maojr compeittors and basleine knowledge of all other competition
lead efforts to design and deliver customized solutions to meet customers\' needs
work directly with customers in the sales and account management process
manage and provide technical support for pre-sales product evaluations
provide customer assistance with all related test tools and applications
perform reseller and customer technical product training
insure customer satisfaction through proper expectation setting
provide problem escalation in a timely manner when required
provide feedback on features, and roadmaps
the sales engineer position requires the following prerequisite skills and experience, capabilities, and other product or market related concerns that affect product sales and acceptance
work with dell technical support when required to provide post-sale support
maintain/keep current all reports and paperwork
complete management assigned mbo\'s within the designated time frame
keep current on all dell product features, trends, issues.business acumen, and interpersonal skills such as written and verbal communication, these skills apply to technical knowledge, sales awareness, time management.
the sales engineer will use their technical knowledge to drive sales while insuring customer satisfaction through proper expectation management.
